PL EC I express myself through eco-art - Be eco with us
31 mars 2025
During the visit of students from Serbia and Romania, the mobility participants learned about art brut and then became artists themselves.
They had previously collected newspapers to reuse them. This is teaching that we can reuse certain objects. It is sensitizing us to sustainable development. To fully immerse themselves in the creative process, students collaborated in international groups to design a collage-style poster. Their task was to create either an exhibition poster or a promotional poster for a documentary about Art Brut. Through this hands-on activity, they not only expressed their creativity but also strengthened friendships and practiced their English in an engaging and meaningful way.
The students brought old colored and black and white newspapers. Using only glue and newspapers, they were tasked with creating a work of art. In this way, they tried to create a portrait or a poster, using small amounts and limited materials. Just like art brut artists who do not have materials at their disposal.
The concept, group work, the idea of each group member and creative invention were important here. Everyone could add something from themselves, what mattered was the atmosphere of joint work, transferring emotions to paper, what everyone wanted to convey and what each member of the group felt. An important aspect was joint work in international groups, constantly discussing the art of art brut, with curiosity and an attempt to understand, the artist's feeling. The students' works were exhibited during an open day for high school candidates as a promotion of the Erasmus+ program at school, and also as part of the "Be eco" project.
