As part of this interdisciplinary activity, students composed the lyrics of a song centered around the theme of social engagement and responsibility. The primary objective was to encourage participants to reflect on urgent societal issues and to express their thoughts, values, and convictions through a creative and modern musical format that resonates with their generation.

Throughout the week-long activity, students worked either individually or in small collaborative groups to write song lyrics in a musical genre of their choosing. Their task was to address and raise awareness of specific social challenges—such as environmental protection, human rights, gender equality, or mental health—while also aiming to inspire their peers to take meaningful, concrete action.

The lyrics were written in the students’ native language and shaped through a combination of artistic creativity and sociological reflection. The process helped them strengthen their ability to express themselves through writing while developing empathy and a deeper understanding of the world around them. They were guided throughout by their sociology teacher, who facilitated discussions, encouraged self-expression, and helped students connect social themes with real-life contexts.

Once the writing phase was completed, students shared their work in class—either by reading their lyrics aloud, performing them, or presenting them in another creative way. These presentations took place during a month specifically dedicated to the theme of social engagement.

Following these presentations, the most powerful and emotionally resonant segments from the students' lyrics were selected by the teaching team. These excerpts were then used as the basis for a set of visually impactful posters, created in collaboration with various school departments. These posters served not only as artistic displays but also as conversation starters, encouraging ongoing dialogue among students and promoting awareness across the school community.

This activity successfully blended the development of reading and writing competences with personal growth, social awareness, and artistic creativity—making it a meaningful and memorable learning experience for all involved.
