During the trip from Belgrade to Sremska Mitrovica, teachers from all seven participating countries visited the Museum of Srem, which holds a rich archaeological collection of Roman-period artefacts, as well as the Imperial Palace Visitors’ Centre.

Throughout the excursion, the group received a concise overview of the history of Serbia—from prehistory to the modern era. Upon arrival in Sremska Mitrovica, participants were guided through three different locations: the Museum of Srem and two sites of the Imperial Palace.

All participants had previously been given checklists with instructions to note all elements they considered relevant during the activity. These observations were later compared with aspects of Roman heritage present in their own countries.
