The meeting was held on the ZOOM platform. Participants introduced themselves to one another and then proceeded with presenting their activities. Students from Poland played a promotional video about their school and shared their personal impressions of different aspects of their city. They also highlighted innovative sustainable practices implemented in urban transport, such as the Płock city bike system and hydrogen-powered buses. Their school’s initiative involved cultural and historical research, culminating in the creation of an audio guide. The Romanian partners presented the city of Bacău and its surroundings in great detail, focusing primarily on cultural, educational, and sports activities. The innovative practices they showcased included tree-planting initiatives, the introduction of electric buses, and the establishment of bike-sharing stations. Their school project featured various events that depicted Romanian Christmas traditions. Four students from the Serbian team each gave a brief overview of Belgrade, their hometown, and their school. The innovative eco-friendly and sustainable technological solutions they presented included hippotherapy and equestrian sports, which are unique opportunities available at the Belgrade Hippodrome, a venue near their school. Another four Serbian students presented their school’s project, which focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), particularly Goals 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 13 (Climate Action). They also conducted a comparative analysis of the situation in all project countries related to these two UNDP SDGs.
Students shared their knowledge of ecological issues and explored the differences and similarities between the challenges and solutions each of the three countries faces within the sustainable development paradigm. They conducted a comparative analysis of these issues, which provided valuable insights into the innovative approaches adopted in each country. As this was the first meeting of soon-to-be collaborators and future hosts/guests, it was essential to ensure a positive initial experience and a warm introduction for all participants. The meeting also fostered a sense of collaboration and inspired future actions, encouraging participants to implement similar sustainable practices in their own communities.
