PL EC Am I eco-citizen?
12 avr. 2025
During the lessons of foreign languages taught at school: Italian, Spanish and French, students learned vocabulary related to environmental protection. We focused on expressions describing appropriate behaviors and gestures characteristic of an eco-citizen. Students read articles from the foreign press about the ecological situation in the country of the language they are learning. Then they held a discussion about different human behaviors and their effects on the environment. Each group developed a kahoot related to eco-gestures and vocabulary from a given language. The quizzes were conducted in other classes learning a given foreign language. During French and Spanish lessons, they watched the film "Alive on our planet", after which they held a discussion on the topic. The students also prepared presentations on the topic of eco-gestures, which they presented to the classes.
The next stage of the activity was the development of games and quizzes related to ecology, appropriate behaviors and checking knowledge of the issues, as well as vocabulary in English, among people visiting the school during the open house. The students were tasked with developing games and quizzes, and then, at the stand promoting the Erasmus+ program in our school, they conducted quizzes and games among primary school students who came to the open house at the high school. In this way, the students of our school promoted good behavior and eco-gestures. Everyone could answer the question of whether they are an eco-citizen and what impact they have on the environment around them.
