IT CC Which local heritage deserves to be safeguarded?

This is the commpn action from Italy . The students, divided into groups, share their knowledge about the concept of cultural heritage and the type of local tangible or intangible heritage that deserves special attention because it is at risk of degradation or destruction; during the discussion, one member of the group writes down the ideas of his or her peers. The best ideas from each team are shared with the other groups. Finally, the local heritage object of the action is chosen by voting. ​

During the Research and preparatory actions:  ​

-students search the internet for information about their chosen heritage site;  ​

-they write a short summary of the history of the site;  ​

-they briefly explain why it must be safeguarded.  ​

​After, students create the text for the video clip: the purpose of the message is to propose an action plan to inform and involve citizens and local authorities of the need to safeguard the local site, the text must also emphasize the impact of such a site on the community.   ​

​Finally, the students produce a promotional video clip of the chosen local cultural or territorial site that will be presented to a cultural and natural heritage preservation committee for approval. ​

​The result is the production of a promotional video clip for each country for the protection of a cultural and/or natural heritage. Italian local heritage which deserves to be safeguarded is "Capo Gallo Natural Reserve".
