PL25 IMPRESSIONS OF ESTONIAN STUDENTS AFTER WEEK IN POLAND
09 oct. 2025Day 1
Today was a very interesting day as it was the first time I got to see Poland in depth. It was also interesting to hear about the measures that the Płock council is taking to make the city more sustainable and eco-friendly.
I liked the warm up activity that we did where we got to talk to different people. It’s useful for me because I got to talk to people that I usually wouldn’t have. I think we should have more actives where we actively talk to new people
During the day 1 I liked many activities. However most of all I liked when we got to walk around in the city for example when we were walking to the city hall and when we had to do a treasure hunt. I liked it because I think that it was the most educating and interesting as in this way I saw the city the most and I really liked seeing all of the different places and areas of this city. I especially liked the view to the river that I saw during the treasure hunt.
Day 2
Today we had a wonderful day. I liked that a person from local radio came to teach us how to speak with other people. I liked it very much because I learnt new way on how to make a person talkative. I also enjoyed to interview other students because I could use learnt communication techniques immediately. I also liked that we watched a documentary about earth’s life and what are the threats for humanity. I also liked that we had to make a poster and present it. I liked it because I could practice my communication skills and painting skills while completing the task. I also liked that we went to a restaurant because I got to taste wonderful Polish food and get to know more others.
It was interesting to hear the story from the journalist, and getting to ask different question. Interviewing, and talking to students from the school was thoughtful. The documentary film was persuasive, and listening to presentations which other teams made, and presenting made me conscious of different ideas. Lastly, hanging out with people from Erasmus, getting to eat different food, and so on was a lot of fun!
Day 3
Wednesday involved a variety of fun activities, for example planting a sensory garden, presenting ecological films. Another interesting activity we did was learning tongue twisters and songs in different languages, as it helped us get to know the languages better. The last thing we did was creating board games about nature. I'd say that my favourite thing we did this day was working on the sensory gardens as it was a very special and eye opening experience.
Today we planted some new plant to the schools small park. I liked it very much because we got to design our own garden and I also managed to communicate with other students. We also had presentations about other ecological city’s. I also liked it because I found out many ecological solutions for many big problems. After our classes we went out and had a dinner in a restaurant. I really loved it because the food was delicious. After dinner we went to see Płock and we had a great time. I really liked it because I found out many facts and funny things about Płock.
Making a sensory garden was very intresting, and fun planning. Listening to others present about the ecological house, city, or village was informative. And learning Polish songs was fun. After school, I went to a shopping mall, and to Macdonald’s to eat, and shop again and it was really fun. My partner told me a lot about Polish snacks, and sweets. After all, my partner led me to a lake near her house, which was very beautiful.
Day 4
Day 4 was our big trip to Warsaw, where we visited the zoo. We were given a lesson on insects and small animals, where we got to pet snakes, lizards and other creatures. This was a very unique activity and something I had never experienced before. After that, the Polish students gave us a detailed tour of the Old Town. We were also given a bit of free time at the mall to buy gifts and souvenirs.
I liked learning about the invertebrates. It was really cool to hold a snake and a leopard gecko. I learned more about the different types of bugs and some facts about snakes (they’re deaf, they smell with they’re tongue, they’re tail is actually relatively short and most of it is its body).
During the day 4 I liked looking at the famous landmarks and having free time in the mall the best because these activities were the most intresting and teached me the most. I also liked going to the zoo as this was also really educational and we got to see and touch different animals.
Day 5
Our last day in Poland sadly went by really fast. In the morning, we did some sports games related to international language day. The activities were very fun and it was nice to cooperate all together. After that, we had a joint lunch of Polish foods prepared by our partner students. Though I had tried Polish food before, I got to experience some new and interesting flavours. Before being given our ERASMUS certificates, we prepared presentations in groups to reflect on the week and share special memories.
The first thing in the morning, we had sports activities. We split into four groups and had many different tasks/games and got points based on our placement. After the sports activities, we ate lunch together which was prepared by Polish students. This was one of the funnest activities because we got to talk so much. Lastly we reflected on the trip and filled out surveys. We created posters about our most pleasant and most unexpected moments of the week.
Summary of the week
One thing I have learned about Erasmus is that each experience is different, and this particular trip was very special in its own way. I am so grateful to have been given such a valuable oppurtunity to learn, bond and grow as a person. Throughout this week, I made many new friends, acquired a lot of new information and genuinely had so much fun. Every activity, task and event allowed me to gain so much. I wish to take all that I learned with me and cherish the memories we made for a lifetime.
The trip was so much better than I had expected. I made so many new friends and had so much fun. The whole week was interesting but I enjoyed Thursday and Friday the most. The activities were greatly planned. I learned a lot about ecology and climate problems.
I feel like I developed my communication skills a lot. I think I am a lot more open-minded after this exchange experience. I would really like to get another experience like this soon and participate in more Erasmus exchange projects.
To sum up our whole trip, I had a very good time and I got to experience new things. For me it was an amazing trip.
