IT26 HA MC Welcome to school and Presentation of the week

The students and teachers participating to the Italian hosting week "Where do we come from? A journey to the roots of Europe” met early in the morning at IS Majorana auditorium. After a welcoming message from the school principal and the vice headteacher, the Italian coordinators held a welcome speech to everybody and showed the weekly programme through a power point presentation, focusing on the explanation of the students' tasks during the different workshops and outdoor activities: the participants were given information about the places to visit and the outdoor activities and they were also divided in international groups for the group activities and workshops. It was also given a detailed explanation of the final products that the groups were required to carry out by the end of the week: an interactive tourist guide about legends and myths in Palermo, a multimedia output about Sicilian traditions, an interactive diary of the week and a collaborative cooking book of European recipes. ​
There was also room for the teachers' presentations. The welcoming section ended with the coordinators stressing the importance of teamwork, collaboration and active participation during the mobility week and giving tips about the uploading of materials on the common twinspace of the RACinE+ project.

All the participants experienced a nice welcome by the Italian students and teachers, The students from the fdifferent countried got to know each other better in an unofficial way and learnt about the weekly programme. They also practiced listening and understanding English when presenting.
