PL24 HA My city, my history. Exploring Płock and creating an Interactive audioguide

The day began with a guided tour of Płock,, conducted by students entirely in English, through the historical landmarks of Płock, providing them with an immersive introduction to the city’s rich cultural heritage. During the tour, participants visited key sites such as Tumskie Hill, the Cathedral Basilica, and the Mazovian Museum, while receiving detailed explanations enriched with historical and cultural anecdotes. Following the tour, the group collaborated to draft comprehensive scripts for the audioguide. These texts  included essential information about each landmark, supplemented with lesser-known facts and engaging narratives to capture the listener’s interest. This informations was used to create an audioguide in two languages: English and Polish. Once the scripts are finalized, participants  recorded the audioguide entries, ensuring high-quality audio with clear pronunciation and professional editing. The students worked in groups, translating, writing, and recording the content.  Finally, the completed audioguide was uploaded to an accessible online platform of the school allowing users to explore Płock’s heritage independently.

The project culminated in a multilingual audioguide, which will be a valuable resource for future students and tourists visiting Płock. The activity fostered language practice, historical learning, and collaboration, creating a unique and engaging experience for all participants.
