PL25 ECMeeting with the City Mayor
17 mars 2025
Teachers and students participating in the RACinE+ project (from Romania, Serbia and Poland) visited the Mayor of Płock. The Mayor told the guests what his job is, what the work and functioning of the City Office in the Polish city looks like, how and where the most important decisions for residents are made. The Mayor told them who reports to the City Office, what institutions he manages and what he has influence on as the mayor of the city.
The Mayor talked to the youth, asked about the situation in their countries and schools.
An important point of the conversation was sustainable development, which is the subject of the project. The Mayor, answering the youth's questions, told them what solutions he proposes in our city to improve the ecological situation of air and water. He shared his plans, ideas and the difficulties he faces.
It was a valuable lesson for all those who benefited. A lesson in knowledge and readiness for changes that must be taken into account if we want to fight for a better tomorrow, for us and for the planet. A lesson in responsibility and awareness.
Romanian, Serbian and Polish students, after visiting the City Hall, learned about the work of a city official, the work of the city mayor, which institutions are responsible for specific areas of life. They learned about the solutions the City offers to its residents in terms of sustainable development, how the residents and authorities of Płock care for the environment, and which areas still need attention.
