20 mars 2025
Serbian, Romanian and Polish students receive a task in advance to prepare a presentation of two chosen music artists (one from the era of 1960’s to 1990s and one representing contemporary times . During the activity each of the four groups displays the presentation to their partners. The presentation should include a short biographical note about the artist, their most outstanding achievements, photos and influence on the contemporary pop culture. The main objective of the activity is to encourage each nationality group to reach for the culture of their partners. Artists from outside the English-speaking countries hardly ever make a true breakthrough and initiate international careers. Thanks to the presentations, students can acquire some knowledge on other countries’ pop culture, learn something new and broaden their horizons and perspectives. Subsequently, each group is in chargé of presenting at least one selected song of the chosen artist. The activity aims at the development of linguistic and cultural abilities of the students. The students are aware that their presentation is not only for teachers so they do their best to make it as successful, interesting and conspicuous as they can. They increase the scope of their lexical units (especially the ones dedicated to art) and they practise making a speech in front of a group of strangers. As they work in a team, they develop their interpersonal and groupwork skills. As many young people are interested in music, there is a high chance the students will Enjoy the activity.
The presentations are then collected and send to the project partners. They become the final product of the activity.
The final product of the activity is a set of eight presentations – two Serbian ones, two Romanian ones and four Polish ones (the number of Polish students is double, therefore they are divided into teams). Each presentation refers to two types of artists from every coutry of all partners (Romania, Serbia and Poland) - one from the period of the 1960s – 1990s and the other one presenting a contemporary artist. Students develop presentation and linguistic skills.
