RO EC – Your ecological footprint

The 10th grade students were actively involved in the project on ecological footprint on 15th of March. During the activity they prepared a well-documented power point material and relevant drawings showing why it is of utmost importance to monitor and reduce the negative impact on the environment. The activity had the following objectives:

Raising awareness regarding the necessity to reduce the ecological footprint by adopting measures for energy efficiency and responsible management of water;

Encouraging the use of reusable energy;

Understanding the impact of the inefficient use of raw materials and waste.

The students understand that Planet Earth belongs to everyone, it is the primordial source of life, a finite and non-renewable source, so it must be cared for. We must protect and capitalize in a responsible manner.

Students made some workshops in the school, debating about the activities in their homeson and also their daily habits; they realized that most of their actions have an impact on the environment and they decided to pay attention to their activities. They also proposed some means of reducing the effect of their actions on the environment, such as trying to limit their waste, walk or use the bikes instead of cars, or even public transportation instead of family cars.
