Starting from the consideration that art is a means of transmitting culture and traditions, students produced creative texts which were collected in an e-book that will become material that other students can use.

In particular, the e-book focuses on the Arab-Norman itinerary in Palermo and the tradition of the Sicilian puppets, both of which have been declared UNESCO heritage sites, with a special attention to a gastronomic tour itinerary that links traditional dishes to the cultural, historical, and ethnic layers of Sicilian identity (e.g., Arab, Norman influences).

Students gained concrete knowledge of the history of the area (history, myths, traditions and gastronomy) recognizing their historical and cultural significance.and rediscovered their identity roots.

They enhanced awareness of Cultural Identity while exploring the connections between local heritage, storytelling, architecture, and culinary practices, reinforcing their sense of cultural identity.

Students developed competencies in researching, organizing, and presenting information effectively for a public audience and produced a multimedia eBook, an engaging digital publication that combines text, images, and videos, making heritage accessible in a modern format.

The eBook serves as a tool to engage peers, educators, families, and potentially tourists, promoting Palermo’s UNESCO heritage through a youth-driven lens.
