ES25 EC CVC Recycling awareness and waste sorting workshop

A student council member led an interactive environmental workshop focused on waste management and recycling awareness. The session began with a comprehensive presentation explaining the importance of recycling and its environmental impact, followed by an detailed overview of Estonia's recycling system from household collection to processing facilities.

Students learned about the complete recycling chain in Estonia, including how different materials are processed and transformed into new products. The presentation covered the specific waste sorting system implemented at Tallinn English College, helping students understand their role in the school's environmental initiatives.

The practical component divided students into working groups, each receiving a bag of mixed waste items and labeled containers representing different waste categories: mixed waste, bio waste, packaging waste, and deposit containers (pant). Through hands-on sorting exercises, students applied their newly acquired knowledge while collaborating to make decisions about proper waste categorization.

The workshop concluded with guided feedback sessions where the student council member reviewed each group's sorting decisions, correcting mistakes and explaining the reasoning behind proper categorization. This interactive approach reinforced learning through immediate feedback and peer discussion.
