ES25 LG MC/PSLL International welcome event and cultural quiz

Saturday marked the official beginning of our cultural exchange week with a comprehensive welcome event designed to bring together participants from three countries. The morning session focused on creating connections and building familiarity among students who would be working together throughout the week.

The event began with three carefully designed icebreaker activities. The first used a speed-dating format where students moved around the room asking each other diverse questions ranging from travel experiences and dream jobs to personal guilty pleasures. This dynamic activity encouraged spontaneous conversations and helped students discover unexpected commonalities across cultural boundaries.

The second icebreaker challenged students to find their "shoe partner" – a creative matching game that required participants to interact with multiple peers while solving the puzzle together. The aim of the activity was to enable new connections to form and allowing previously acquainted students to reconnect in a fresh context.

The culminating activity organized students into mixed international teams for an engaging Kahoot quiz competition. The quiz covered culture, history, and geography from all three participating countries, featuring questions that ranged from French artist Paul Gauguin to the Portuguese cavaquinho instrument and Estonia's innovative digital voting system. This format encouraged collaborative learning while celebrating the rich diversity each country brought to the exchange.
