FR25 HA City Tour in Dunkirk

Students were divided into ten mixed groups and on a guided tour around Dunkirk, exploring its notable historical and cultural sites with the help of a map a with a form and various step to visit (answer questions or taking pictures)

Each group, starting from different locations due to the abundance of sites to visit and on foot. They visited several key landmarks, including the Belfry of St Eloi, St Eloi’s Church, the Town Hall, Place Jean Bart, the beach and places of the Dynamo Operation. At each site, the student guides provided detailed descriptions of the location's historical importance, offering an immersive learning experience.

They are asked different questions based on questionnaire of the city representing the places they are in, which they can answer thanks to the presentations that the French students have given them or thanks to the signs in front of these places that present their history. 

At the end, all the groups gathered in the Lycée and participated to an online game quiz (Kahoot) with questions about the places they visited.

Due to a big tour, they had to be really efficient on the different steps, but the majority of the groups managed to do tehwhole tour. The students learned a lot about the history of Dunkirk with Jean Bart and seems interested. They get to know each other because it was the first day of Erasmus Week..In particular, they learn that Dunkirk is an important port and had a huge role during World War II and that Jean Bart was a pirate at the time of Louis XIV and saved Dunkirk sohe is considered as a hero. They realised that the city's unique history has shaped the face of its territory and nurtured its ability to mobilise and build the future together. The corsair Jean Bart and Operation Dynamo embodies this region's ability to face up to events, bounce back and rebuild.
