RO TD ROMANIAN TRADITIONAL DANSES

On December 17th, the Romanian language class offered students an immersive cultural experience by introducing them to three traditional Romanian dances (Brasoveanca, Hora and Capra). The session began with a live demonstration by two students who are part of a local folklore group, providing an authentic display of the dance movements that highlighted Romania’s rich heritage.

After the demonstration, the class split into two groups and moved to separate rooms to practice the dances. This arrangement enabled focused instruction and allowed for more personalized guidance. Students actively engaged in learning the choreographed steps, developing coordination and rhythm. The emphasis extended beyond mastering movements to include understanding the cultural and historical significance of each dance.

The practice sessions were characterised by enthusiastic participation and mutual support, fostering a collaborative learning environment and encouraging valuable peer interaction.

The final event occurred in the teachers’ room, where both groups performed their rehearsed dances. This presentation gave students the chance to showcase their acquired skills, reflecting their commitment and the effectiveness of the teaching methods. The occasion celebrated not only educational success but also the classroom’s cultural diversity.

In sum, the Romanian class on December 17th effectively combined language learning with cultural practice, delivering a rich and engaging  educational experience.
