IT25 TD Identity at the table. Sicilian Cuisine- zero waste
01 févr. 2026The object of the activity was to help stustens become aware of their cultural identity through an immersion in local traditional culinary recipies.
The students, divided into groups, thought of a simple recipe revealing their cultural and family identity. Each group was responsible for conducting a video interview with their family members in which they talked about the origin of the recipe, the ingredients and the procedure for making it. In particular, they looked for traditional “zero waste” recipes that are sustainable because they are made with local, seasonal, low-cost products and even with leftovers from other dishes.
Each video was accompanied by a tutorial involving family members in Italian or Sicilian with English subtitles.
