ES25 TD Visit to Rocca al Mare Open Air Museum

Rocca al Mare Open Air Museum comprises more than 84 buildings, mostly farm-related, including windmills, spread across 70 hectares of forest and land, on the shore of the Kopli Gulf. The students took part in a guided tours with two guides. The participants were provided with an opportunity to learn a lot of fun facts of Estonian history and social life at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Students from Estonia, Italy, Portugal, and Poland got to know the the most important events leading the architecture of Estonian life. Visiting different houses let the visitors to listen to the stories and to find the differences and similarities with their own country. Visiting the school and listening to the stories about the learning at school more than 100 years ago gave the perspective about the changes taking place during that time in the education and possibilities.
The visit to the museum ended with the united meal having Estonian traditional food: pea soup, mashed potatoes with the ham and sour cream, and kama.
