ES Sustainable Develompent Goals

Students learning the subject Natural Sciences and technology and Society were focusing on the topic UNDP Sustainable Developmant Goals.

Teacher introduced the idea behind UN SDGs and how different countries have agreed on working in this area.

 Students were given a task to choose one goal and prepare the presentation. Students investigated a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal, analyzed its global importance and actions taken by different countries, evaluated Estonia's progress using official statistics, compared results with neighboring countries, and presentated them to the class. Discussion followed on how each student could help in tackling these problems and if they are very important in our lives.  On the walls the comic pictures made by https://www.margreetdeheer.com/the-global-goals-of-sustainable-development/ are presentated to keep the goals in mind in funny way.

After that the students chose 2 SDGs and explored relevant NGOs. In the class these NGOs in the Canva poster format were introduced, and after some discussion they stayed in the class walls to be presened to the school community.

After presenting the research to the class students played the board game about SDGs to make the learning even more effective and closer to life real situations.
