In the afternoon, after a tasty Sicilian lunch offered by our school, we moved by the school bus to the city centre, where the students discovered Punic and Arab Norman Palermo through a culture quest including games, photo and video challenges.

The challenge lasted 2 hours and half and included 8 stops connected to the rediscovery of the main Punic and Arab Norman heritage sites in Palermo. Students worked in teams and, using smatphones, they took photos, shot videos and sorted out clues and riddles. The results of their quest were uploaded on the Twinspace of the project with the team hashtag, ready to be checked by a commission of teachers to judge the winning team.

Thanks to this activity, students explored the history and gastronomic culture of the town and had the opportunity to recognise in concrete terms what had been discussed in the lecture and rediscover their roots of identity.

Furthermore, participants collaborated actively in teams, sharing observations and reasoning to solve clues or complete tasks, what was important for improving their teamworking skills.
