Following a workshop conducted by a journalist from Płock Radio, students had the chance to apply their newly learned journalistic techniques in practice by carrying out street interviews. Their assignment was to speak with local residents—specifically, students from our school—about the theme of “Green Płock.” The discussions centered on the city’s environmental situation, current ecological challenges, and potential solutions to improve conditions in the years ahead.The interviews were conducted in international pairs, allowing students from different countries to collaborate closely and support each other while communicating in English as their shared language. This experience not only promoted teamwork, creativity, and open-mindedness but also boosted students’ confidence in approaching people and asking thoughtful, well-structured questions.Through this activity, participants gained valuable insights into local attitudes toward ecology and environmental protection. At the same time, they developed their communication and critical-thinking skills, strengthened intercultural understanding, and learned how journalism can be used as a tool for social awareness and positive change.
The street interviews allowed students to apply journalistic skills in practice, gain confidence in public speaking, and improve their English communication. Working in international pairs strengthened teamwork and cultural exchange. Participants deepened their understanding of ecological issues in Płock, while residents appreciated the opportunity to share their views and ideas.
