ES25 Intercultural Ice-Breaker Activity: “Find Someone Who…”

On the first day of the Erasmus+ project “Traditions Connect People”, students from Estonia, Italy, Portugal, and Poland took part in an interactive ice-breaker activity called “Find someone who…”.

Each participant received a list of 20 statements related to cultural traditions, everyday habits, and personal experiences.

Students had to move around the room, talk to participants from other countries, ask questions, and find someone who matched each description.The aim was to encourage communication, reduce tension, and help students quickly get to know each other in an engaging and dynamic way.
Students successfully interacted with peers from all four countries.The activity helped to break the ice and reduce first-day anxiety.Participants learned about each other’s traditions, such as national food, costumes, dances, proverbs, and festivals.The group developed a friendly atmosphere that supported collaboration during the following project days.Students discovered that despite cultural differences, many traditions connect people across Europe.
