CC Beach Mission: Saving Native Coastal Ecosystems

As part of the Erasmus programme, participants took part in a practical environmental conservation activity focused on the identification and removal of invasive plant species from a local beach ecosystem. Under the guidance of environmental professionals and project coordinators, participants learned (ou learnt) about the ecological impacts of invasive species on native habitats, biodiversity and ecosystem balance. The activity provided hands-on experience while promoting active participation in the protection and restoration of coastal environments. Participants were also encouraged to reflect on the importance of preserving native species and supporting sustainable environmental management practices.

As results, participants developed a greater understanding of the threats posed by invasive species and of the importance of protecting native biodiversity. They acquired practical experience in environmental conservation and habitat restoration activities, while strengthening their commitment to sustainable environmental practices. The activity contributed to the improvement of the local coastal ecosystem through the removal of invasive plants and encouraged participants to adopt a more active role in environmental protection within their communities. Furthermore, participants enhanced their collaborative skills and their awareness of the value of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.
