Aims and skills targeted :

to build relationships among everyone

to encourage students to interact with one another

to encourage cooperation and trust

to promote group problem-solving, the ability to make decisions under pressure, and the division of tasks among team members

Three team-building activities were developed and carried out, with a group of students from a class on the Vocational Course for Sports Technicians acting as the support and development team for the activities.

The first activity was called the ‘Egg Drop Challenge’, and the main aim was to create a protective structure or vehicle for a raw egg. The structure is dropped from a specific height (for example, 2 or 3 metres) and the egg must not break.

The second activity was called ‘The Chute Challenge’The game of passing a ball through a chute is one of the most classic and effective team-building exercises. The main objective was to transport a ball from a starting point to a finishing bucket, using only individual chutes and continuous teamwork in rotation.

Finally, the activity “The Secret Route” (Focus on Strategy and Problem Solving). The whole team worked together to discover a hidden safe path through a grid on the floor, where the other team had planned to place some “mines”. The main objective was to follow the path on the grid without “stepping on” the mines and try to reach the end.

Results: Help students develop their ability to solve problems as a group, make decisions under pressure, and divide tasks among team members.
